Nir grew up in Yuvalim, a village in Misgav, Israel, in the hilly region of the Lower Galilee.
Since he can remember, hikes and trips in the nature have always been in his soul and over the years he has traveled extensively with his family, friends, and on his own. In addition to his love for the outdoors Nir developed a passion for cooking and cuisine. After years of experience gained working alongside the best chefs in the country, the knowledge he acquired, and the recipes he perfected, Nir established his own catering company that now works in cooperation with his traveling company, Puzzle Israel.
Every single day Nir makes a habit of taking a moment to explore new areas, discover new places and meet new people whom he hopes will enrich his repertoire of experiences.
Guy was born and raised in Koranit, Israel, in the Lower Galilee. The roots of his appreciation for nature and love of Israel stem from his grandparents’ history. Escaping the European Holocaust, Guys ancestors settled in Israel and took to the work of building the land of Israel with their very own hands.
Guy loves horseback riding, cooking, traveling, and playing the piano. In addition, he has a B.A. in behavioral sciences from Bar Ilan University. After his three-year army service Guy spent eight months traveling across New Zealand and the Far East. His travels around the world gave him a fresh perspective on Israel and an understanding of what makes his homeland so unique – a perspective he felt he must share with others.
Deb Lust Zaluda
Deb is a life long Chicagoan, growing up, marrying, and raising her own family there.
Following a long and successful career as a lawyer, Deb turned her vocational efforts to two of her deepest passions: Israel and philanthropy. She has had leadership roles in numerous Jewish and Israel-centric charities and continues in that vein, including efforts to help grow the population (getting young people to stay or move back from the center and getting others to move from the center of Israel to the Galilee and to introduce further-afield US communities to Israel’s great successes in the environment and community building.
Her love for Israel led her to start her own Israel travel business back in 2010. She eventually combined that business with Puzzle Israel.
In addition to working to share her passion for Israel with others by showing them Israel “Puzzle Israel” style, she now focuses much of her efforts on Israel travel that combines both philanthropy and experiential travel.
Tamar was born in Jerusalem to an American father and Israeli-Canadian mother. Her childhood and adolescent years were full of exploring nature, off-road cycling trips with family and friends, and volunteering on archaeological digs. After graduating from Haifa University with a B.A. in archaeology, Tamar moved to London to continue her studies at the University College London, and received her M.Sc. degrees in Human Evolution and Behavior and in Human Skeletal and Dental Bio-archaeology.
Tamar loves running and cycling, and believes this to be the best way to explore one’s surroundings. Pursuing her love for the saddle, for the past couple of years she has been guiding cycling groups from abroad, exposing them to the stunning scenic roads of Israel.
Joining the Puzzle Israel team, Tamar hopes to express and pass on to others her excitement, energy, and her love of the country.
Ashley was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up at JCC Camp Chi, a Jewish overnight camp located in Wisconsin. Through her experience as a camper, counselor, and most recently a full time staff member, Ashley developed a strong Jewish identity and connection to Israel.
Ashley graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Elementary Education, and has a passion for teaching, learning, and experiencing something new every day.
Her love for experiential education and travel has brought her to Israel many times for both personal and professional adventures, and her love and passion for Israel continues to grow!
In her spare time, she is actively involved in the Jewish community in Chicago, and can usually be found wherever live music is being played and pizza is being served!
Ashley is so excited to be part of the Puzzle Israel family. She looks forward to sharing her passion about Israel with others, and having the opportunity to teach and learn from people all over the world.
Roi was born and raised in Kiryat Haim (City of life), Israel, in the Lower Galilee. Born to a Romanian father and a Polish mother, together with his twin sister. Roi is passionate about the world’s different cultures and especially his own home country.
Roi is an avid world traveler and explored over 30 countries, including a year in North America and a year in South America, his voyages around the world provide him with insights of the global ethos, and especially cultivate a bond with his unique birthplace. He is also active in the Couchsurfing and Woofing communities, hosting people from around the globe, and participating in a vast range of international undertakings.
He is also a marathoner, a scuba driver, a snowboarder and mountain climber. He studies a B.A. in International Relations and Economics in the Interdisciplinary Center International University in Herzliya.
Roi joined Puzzle Israel to share his wisdom with the world and to learn and continue having meaningful experiences in his L.I.F.E or as he calls it “Long Incredible Fabulous Entertainment”.
Bat Hen Hazut
Bat Hen was born in Haifa to a Tsabar family of Hungarian origins and was raised in a multilingual environment. Growing up in Eilat, Bat Hen loved hiking, scuba diving, and sailing together with her older brothers. At the age of 20, having completed her army service, Bat Hen spent a year traveling in the U.S. and training in martial arts. She received her bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern studies from Ben Gurion University and continued to study Ottoman history in Istanbul, Turkey. During that period she traveled extensively throughout Europe.
As a competitive triathlete and sports enthusiast, Bat Hen strongly believes that sportive activities allow to create new and long-lasting friendships, strengthen familial bonds, and are a wonderful way to explore and enjoy Israel’s mesmerizing nature.
Bat Hen has over a decade of experience working in Israel’s tourism industry. After spending several months in East Africa she decided to focus her efforts on introducing Israel to African travelers and Africa to Israeli travelers, so both can discover each other’s treasures and cultures.
Gily grew up in Kiryat Ata, located in the north of Israel, spending most of her time at the nearby Kibbutz Usha’s stables where she competed in show jumping until she was drafted into the army. After her military service she traveled for 7 months in South America. She has a BSc in Information Systems, yet her true passion is to explore and learn everything she can about Israel, which led her to become a licenced Tour Guide. Gily loves new and exciting culinary experiences, trying out different dishes and eating out at unique places with interesting atmospheres. This is the reason she is writing articles about her experiences for an Israeli restaurant website.
Gily is happy to join the Puzzle Israel team and her love for mankind and desire to show others her country, give her the pleasure of providing Puzzle Israel’s travelers the best “Israel experience” they can dream of.
Liran was born in Kibbutz Gan-Shmuel, one of the oldest Kibbutzim in Israel, to an Argentinian mother and Israeli father with Romanian roots. Liran has 3 siblings and after moving with his parents from village to village, they all finally settled in the communal village of Gan Ner- located besides the biblical Mount Gilboa.
After completing his military service as a team commander on the 8200 Intelligence Unit, Liran began traveling through Europe, working for a while in Spain. Upon returning to Israel he started his B.A in Communication Studies at the YVC College. One of his greates passions is photogrpahy, which he is currently studying to do professionally at the Technion in Haifa
Liran loves traveling abroad, exploring new territories and new people. There are nights where he never leaves the hostel, as he rather drink some beer with other travelers than with his own friends! Learning new languages is always a great part of his travel experiences, since Liran believes that communication is the key for every successful encounter in life.

Born and raised in Yuvalim, a beautiful village located in the lush green area of the Lower Galilee hills, Aner was a true “nature boy”, always hiking and exploring the areas surrounding the village. Later in life his passion for travel took him all over Israel and the world with family, friends and mostly on his own. His travels took him from New Zealand to northern Europe and from East Asia to South America. With “green fingers” and a deep love for fresh and healthy food, he graduated cooking school and made this his profession, specializing in outdoor fine cooking. At Puzzle Israel Aner combines his love of nature with his passion of preparing tasty dishes and enjoys preparing all Puzzle Israel’s travelers delicious and nourishing Israeli food
